Considering Wedding Drone Videography?

Why Holy Stone HS 720e Drone

The Positives

There's no question, drones are really cool.  They can capture high-quality video and still photographs from locations we previously could only dream about.

Venue Rules and Restrictions

Each wedding venue has their own rules about when and where they can be flown. Some venues do not allow drone flights on property at all. Make sure you check with your venue about restrictions and share them with your videographer.

Timeline Tips

We suggest you notify your photographer about the importance of getting drone shots during your portrait session. This will also give your photographer the heads-up about how they should plan their session with you.

Weather and FAA Airspace

Heavy wind, fog, low visibility, or rain can ground a drone. The airspace matters too. Some areas are no-fly zones, like if you’re getting married close to an airport or helipad.

Safety

We highly suggest not having drone coverage for the ceremony and other formal events where your guests are involved. Having drones flying over a large group of people is not just unpleasant and safe for the guests, it’s against FAA regulations.

Sunset Over New York City

Ariel photography is becoming more and more popular at weddings, special events and for real estate portfolios and with it the need for good planning and assurance of safety. A drone is not meant to be the highlight of the video rather than an enhancement to the days events.

We at Moonlight Film Studios choose to invest in the Holy Stone HS 720e because of its size, unobtrusiveness, long battery life and video quality. This small but exceptional drone produces aerial photo and video footage at 4K HD resolution. Extended battery life allows not only for longer flight time but limits the safety risk of having to constantly land and re-flight the drone. It's industry leading small footprint allows less distracting attention to it and more on the days events.
